Post Colchicine and Back Pain

Have any of you (with or without frank gout) ever used colchicine for relief- either long term or temporary.
I've read a couple old studies make great claims to it's efficacy.
I HAVE gout and use allopurinol for control and have colchicine for emergencies like a rare acute attack. It may be wishful thinking, but I seem to have a more comfortable back while taking one or two colchicine per day.

Anyone with personal experience (or some good web research site on the subject?)
