Itching when In cold water?

Yeah, I have a serious problem while swimming in cold water, or at the beach when it's cold. It's only on my legs and arms, and I get goosebumps and it's itching uncontrolably. It is very annoying, and I would like to know what's wrong, or how to prevent it from happening.

Re: Itching when In cold water?

Cold water shrinks/closes your pores, so prolly when that happens you feel that itch.

Well like i said im not sure that is what is causing the problem, if your at the beach it could be the salt also. But i dont know of any way of keeping them closed, that is the body's natural function.

Re: Itching when In cold water?

I can definatly relate. I can't even stay in a pool very long because the itching on my feet and hands becomes unbarable. It happens when I go outside in the winter too. My hands start to itch like I've been out for hours, when I've only been out for a few minutes. I think I'm just allergic to temperture change. I know when I take a hot shower I get hives mostly on my neck and face.
