Re: I lost my mom to breast cancer

I never had children, but if I had, I would have wanted them to love me the way you love your Mom. And best of all, you DO get to keep the love, the memories, the thoughts and the feelings forever.
I'm sure that this Mother's Day must be really really hard for you. I remember the first few Father's Days after my Dad died of colon cancer... I would yell at the TV "not everybody has a Dad!" at the commercials. And cried a couple times when I had to walk past the cards instead of picking one out.
Please remember that your Mom will ALWAYS be your mom, and its o.k. to honor or celebrate her if you want to tomorrow or ANY day..
You just continue being the caring, wonderful daughter that you are. I'm sure your mom is just as proud of you today as she ever was....

Re: I lost my mom to breast cancer

I just turned 34, and I can't even imagine my daughters having to live without me, or me without them. I really feel so terribly sad for you! This must be an awfuly hard time right now, especially since your mom was so young. Please know that she is indeed watching over you, and although it's hard to think about, she truly is in a better place now. I know it doesn't make it any easier, but that's how I get through losing loved ones.

((((((Hugs to you)))))))

Re: I lost my mom to breast cancer

Hi Jess,

I just lost my mother on April 22nd of this year to breast cancer that ended up in her lungs. She battled the cancer for seven (7) years. I feel the same way. I am 30 and still want my mom here with me. My father is still alive and has MS. This added stress in his life is hard for him but he is making an effort to wake up every morning and face the day. I know you are 16 and you sound like you are very mature for your age. Your mother must have been very proud of her daughter. I know that she is there for you just like mine is for me. I find that when I feel sad or alone it is best to remember a funny moment that you had with her. I know that is what my mom wanted me to do. I took care of her for the last month of her life. It was very hard to watch her die the way that she did, but she thanked me and told me she loved me the night before she died. I know that she is always with me. Just remember Jess, mom's were made to love and teach their children. It sounds like your mother did a wonderful job with you. Don't forget the wonderful times you had with your mom. She would want you to keep living and taking in the love from your dad. I am here if you want to talk.
