Hi, what kind of work do you do? What are you doing (home or work) when you get blood in your urine?
Is one kidney enlarged and the other normal sized?
Blood in urine is not a good sign, what does the doctor say?
For people exposed to a common cleaning chemical, 2-butoxyethanol, exposure is noted when blood shows up in the urine.
This chemical targets the kidneys and liver and endocrine system and nervous system and has reproductive effects. There are concerns for lymphomas (& I wonder if the lump you have should be biopsied?)
Catch these things early and you can recover. Please do not delay
This chemical also causes blood damage to the red blood cells, and can not be found, usually, in the regular things doctors check. It would show up nicely in absolute reticulocyt count. If the doctor has found this there will be a note in your labs that you have too many immature red blood cells. Call the nurse and ask if that test has been done, and if not, would the doctor order it from the lab. Then you can get the test & know what you are dealing with next time you get a doctor's appointment.
