Help..Feet Pain

My question or comment is this...my pain in my feet started about 3 weeks ago. It feels like sharp, burning pains from deep within my bones, mostly in the joints. The pain then moved to my hands 3 days later, so bad that I couldn't even move them so I had to miss work. I went to the Dr. and he said I was allergic to juice because I was drinking so much (White Cranberry Strawberry). I stopped drinking the juice, by the end of the week I had a severe bladder infection. Pain in the feet still remained. This past Wednesday I awakened with such severe pain in the morning that I was crying. By Saturday, the pain has moved to my legs and back this was accompanied by a migraine. I did not sleep most of the night because I could not stay still because of the pain. Again, the pain feels like sharp, stabbing, burning pain from deep within my bones. Not consistent throughout the whole leg but, the pain is in different parts at different times. Nothing is seeming to help except a combination of hydrocodone and ibubrofen that I take for migraines. I do not seem to have the "pressure points" I have read about for fibromyalgia. It does not hurt to touch. What does this sound like? My paternal grandma has had fibromyalgia for many many years. Any relation? Help! Looking for any guidance...even it sounds like something else. So far Dr's think it could be a vitamin defieciency, pre-diabetes, or side effect of another med. I take many for bi-polar disorder. Help Please!!

Re: Help..Feet Pain

Have you tried changing shoes?

My feet were hurting all last week and I decided to stop wearing my regular shoes (blundstones) and switch to my reeboks and everything's back to normal.

Re: Help..Feet Pain

Hi Molly. Sorry to hear of your discomfort. I ususally post in the Lupus or MS forum because I have been experiencing similar symptoms as you but haven't been diagnosed. Since you have bi-polar, it seems like every new symptom you develop will be blamed on the disease or the medication and you will have to really PUSH your doctors for proper testing. I would start out with a blood panel of a CBC w/ diff, sed-rate level, thyroid profile, diabetes and yes, check for vitamin diffiencies because they can mimic neurological disorders.
I get this burning pain in my feet sometimes and my joints in my left foot will just ache for no reason. I have many other symptoms and I have been "sick" since October and still my doctors don't know what is causing it. You are correct to assume that it isn't fibro because one must have at least 11 of the 18 pressure points in order for a diagnosis. I thought I had fibro too until I realized I don't have any pressure points. Since auto-immune diseases run in your family, I would share this info with your doctor. I would start of by seeing an internist.
I do hope your symptoms will get better but if not, please be mentally prepared for the long process of getting to the cause of your symptoms and try browsing the lupus or MS board or even the immune disorder board as I'm sure you'll find lots of others with symptoms like yours. Oh, how did your symptoms start....after a viral infection???

Re: Help..Feet Pain

Thanks Kristine-
My symptoms seemed to start for no particular reason. It wasn't after a viral infection that I know of. At first, I thought it might be my shoes or that I was just tired that week but, the symtoms continue and seem to be getting worse. I will look into the other boards you recommended. Thank you.

Re: Help..Feet Pain

Are your joints inflammed (swollen, warm and painfull while moving)? The first thougt which includes all: joint pain, pain in the spine (with stiffness) and bladder infection is reactive arthritis or Reiter syndrome. This can be a consequence of urethral or bowel infection. Some are assumed to be predisposed for this disease. You can read about this on the net first and then give some feedback if you want.
Gonnorhea also goes with urinary infection and arthritis.
Both diseases common go with eye inflamation (conjunctivitis).
Chron dieasise, gout are my additional suggestions.
