severe whitecoat hyptertension

aynbody else see this, went to the doctors today and they took it and said it was like 155/98 . I happen to bring my home bp machine to the office and use it and it said it was high also that's after taking it in the morning and being like 130/84 . So I took it again tonight at home at about 10 PM and it was 127/74 . Anybody ever see this big a difference at the doctors office .

Re: severe whitecoat hyptertension

YEP, been 190/110 at doc's office - 130/74 1 hour later at home.
I always take my monitor for the doc to check cause he looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell him how low it is at home.

Re: severe whitecoat hyptertension

Hi Viper, and everyone else. Been having alot of computer problems so haven't been around much. As far as your BP at the drs., don't feel bad, mine is a total mess when I go. As soon as I know I have an appt. I start freaking out the night before, get diarrhea, the shakes, etc. I am not fond of this new dr. at all, so that doesn't help either, but that is a whole different story.

Last time I went to the dr. BP was 150/90, as soon as I came home and relaxed for an hr. it was 125/82, before bed it was 122/78. I don't think my dr. believes me that I get good readings at home, and just keeps wanting to shove me on more meds. I think that is half my problem with him, as I know if it is up he is going to stick more junk on me. I also took my monitor with me, and it was high on that too. I don't know what I am going to do about him or the meds., as I know I am going to be a basket case before I even get there? Never was this nervous with a dr. in all my life, and he seems to freak out one minute, and next tells me don't worry about it, so go figure.

Anyway, HI to U and everyone, and as soon as I can get this fool puter of mine running right, will try to get on and chat, cause man, I have been thru the mill the last 6 months....LONG STORY!! Take care, and hope to chat with y'all soon.... JJ

158/80 last reading at the doc. 121/72 yesterday. 1/2 hr. after I saw the doc. mine was 130/80. White-coat can just exist at the doc. imo.

Re: severe whitecoat hyptertension

I have the same problem. I am always high when I go to the doctor. At home it's fine, at work it's fine. I even have it taken at the dentist, foot doctor etc. It's always good unless I know my regular doctor is going to take it. Fortunately, he believes me and is not pushing the meds on me.
