anyone on hexalen

Hello everyone,

My mom had recurrent ovarian ca. She was treated with Topotecan the second time around with about 30 treatments. Her ca 125 dropped to normal (this is her marker). Her doctor now suggested for her to take Hexalen pills 4 times a day for 3 weeks and then stop for a week etc... as precautionary measure. Has anyone taken this drug and has there been any extreme secondary effects that would have made you stop the drug. My mom is very worried since before she was used to getting a teratment evey week in the clinic where all the nurses were around just in case anything happened, as opposed to now starting to take a drug at home. She lives by herself. Any suggestions, insight would be greatly appreciated.

My mother in law was on hexalen. It made her really sick to her stomach and she stopped it. She didn't take any copazine (sp?) though. I'm not sure if that would have helped. The best of luck to you and your mom.
