Occasionally skin tags will grow, but not by much. Usually they are removed by first numbing the skin with a shot of Lidocaine then a quick snip of the scissors to remove the tag. I have had one removed from my armpits that the dermatologist did not numb because she said it would have hurt more to numb it than to snip it with the scissors. I felt a slight pain and asked her when she was going to remove it thinking that that was the shot. She said "I just did". It takes like 2 seconds!
