New to Atenolol, advice pls?

I was recently diagnosed with High Blood Pressure and SVT. (I was averaging 150/100 and 100 pulse rate, and the SVT kicking in after heavy exercise) My doctor gave me 25mg Atenolol. The thing is, I'm supposed to call back and tell him how it's working, but I don't know how it's working. My BP and pulse rate is all over the place. Before I was steadily high, now it's sometimes the same as before and sometimes perfectly normal. Is this common? Just wondering what other users have experienced.
Any advice or feedback please?

Re: New to Atenolol
