Okayyy so I've had bad acne since I was really super young.. like 5th grade.. too young for acne.. anywho, It moved to my back and does anybody know the best way to get rid of it? I guess I've had it for awhile but now that it's starting to get nice, I really don't wanna have to limit my shirts to what shows my back and what doesn't! Any wild ingredients!? DON'T HOLD BACK ON ME!!!!!!

Re: Back Acne is ruining my SUMMER!!!!

If it's that bad you should consider contacting a dermatoligist because severe acne can leave scars. I have used several products like antibiotics, but the only thing that realy seemed to work for me was a product called 'Roacutane', the name of the product can be different depending on what country you live in.
The drug has some negative effects too, it won't help you out for this summer as they only prescribe it during winter, cause it reacts badly to sunlight. It also dries out your skin and lips and I had to have my blood tested every month because it can cause liver damage too. But in the end it was worth it. The first summer the acne was completly gone, now, 2 year later, the acne has come back but not as bad as before. For some people it cures acne completly and forever, for some it doesn't.
Other things you could try are antibiotics and zink, this last one is just a food supplement, you don't need a prescription for it, it doesn't cure acne but it helps repairing your skin.

Hope this was helpfull.

Re: Back Acne is ruining my SUMMER!!!!

I started getting acne about 10 months ago - on my face, chest and back. After 6 months of trying EVERYTHING I went to dermatologist and she prescribed antibiotics. Well, 3 and 1/2 months into it my face is clear, my chest is almost clear enought to wear low fronted tops and my back has just started to clear.

Lotions that I use on my back. Alpha Hydrox AHA Cream, $8 from any drug store (i just started using this last week and my back has suddenly started clearing it up) Renova. I make sure to shower twice a day and in the morning I spray Bactine on my back to keep germs at bay.

My dermatologist says that the back is the hardest place to clear up because of the amount of follicles that are infected. So, in the meantime try the creams, but ultimately, you're gonna have to take something orally.

Re: Back Acne is ruining my SUMMER!!!!

I've had horrible back acne ever since my face flared up Freshman year in High School. I mean it was really bad. I'm 20 now and my back is almost completely clear. I used Head and Shoulders Shampoo as a body wash for my back, chest, and other acne prone areas on my body. It worked really well for me and has for a lot of people on this board. The only problem with me was that it wasn't preventing them... just making them go away really fast. I started Yasmin 4 months ago and I am really amazed at what it has done for my back. I have like 2 small pimples that are going away left. I also still use the H & S.
