Exclamation Responding to ya'll who responded to me on my "Day 6" thread- hit new thread- sorry!

Okay, first, was Lisa, thanks girlfriend for jumping in so quick! You pretty much said it, "Not my drug of choice AT ALL!"

User, was given trazodone once, way back when, at it did knock me out, problem was, I was still knocked out the next day! Could not function from the feeling of being so DRUGGED! Didn't work for me! Thanks for the tid-bit though!

Next one, can't remember your user name, so sorry, the one trying to come off sub as well! Thanks for your advice- don't smoke pot and even if I entertained the idea (which I wouldn't ) would not have the foggiest idea where to get some!
Best of luck to you getting off, but just beware that oh-so-seems-tiny jump from 1mg to nothing is ROUGH! Not trying to be discouraging at all- just want you to be prepared when that time comes! I"m sure I'll still be around the boards for a good while so when that time does come, track me down and I'll help in any way I can! (But being on the Paxil will help!)

Sammi, still having a pretty good day! Didn't take the kids to the pool or water park, b/c my baby is getting burned- no matter how much sunscreen I slather her with, so, at home for the first time being clean. Seems surreal to be able to say "I am clean!" But, I like it! Just focusing on some chores, staying on the boards alot (luckily the computer is upstairs in the playroom), etc.!
Okay, my addictionologist didn't prescribe the Xanax. I was prescribed that by my psych doctor well over two years ago. My addictionologist knows my other doctor and I told him what he had prescribed back then for depression and anxiety (Lexapro and Xanax). He asked me three questions regarding the Xanax- 1. Do you take the Xanax when you feel stressed out? "No." 2. Do you take the Xanax to get to sleep? "Was No, but during w/d's "Yes." and 3. Do I look forward to ever taking a Xanax? "No." and then something about when I did take it, did I take the alloted amount prescribed, which is "No." So, he said I didn't appear to have any addiction concerns regarding Xanax and since I was at such a low dose, I would be able to taper off easily when the time comes. Just wanted to clarify!
Thanks for ALWAYS responding- look forward to your posts!

Banker, I wish you were having a better day! And yes, I have asked this question more than once on the boards, but, you know me, I love to worry! When I here someone say something so negatively about it, my little mind gets to churning! I guess I should just listen to my doctor (as he is a coke addict, prescription pain med and benzo addict, and alcoholic) and worry about the opiods right now! Hang in there and tomorrow WILL BE BETTER! Okay? Thanks!

Last but not least, Cade, thanks for the info! Is the Neurontin something I need to worry about getting off of? I'll admit, what you said is a little unnerving! PLEASE get back to me on that! Thanks!!!

Thanks again to each one of you! Gosh, if I left someone out, I am so sorry! I have a two year old in my lap, so, I am having a hard time doing this anyway! Take care ya'll,
michelle

Michelle - you sound good. Today was better for me too. Going out tonight - I'm childless for two days so I'm taking advantage of it. It's fun... going to play pool and just having fun. K - I have to ask... Does your two year old ever wave at this little thing? May daughter does it ALL of the time. She gets in my lap and says "HEY" and waves back at it. SO CUTE! Aren't they just the sweetest - of course except when a temper tantrum is being thrown. By the way, and I should go to the parenting board but just quickly, how do you handle those? ANd how do you handle 'sharing' with all of yours?

Just wondering and you sound good today. I'm happy for you and SO very proud of you. Just don't let anyone intimidate you (just like you say to me ALL of the time) into doing something that you might not be ready to do... But if you are- then have at it. You can officially walk into an AA/NA meeting and say I AM CLEAN!!!!! That's the only thing I don't like about it - because I believe unless God really heals my anxiety disorder (which IS debilitating if not treated properly) then I just don't see myself on anything else but some sort of an anxiety med. Maybe one day that will not be a benzo... but right now it is, it works, and I'm taking as prescribed... so... that's the way it goes and I have NO guilt about that. But you know I feel guilty about Sub... that's another thread and another day. I'm in too good of a mood to start dwelling on that (see - just like you... I worry too) !!!

Take care and let me know if you find out the cause of your daughter getting burned. I haven't taken mine out in the sun a lot yet this summer. I know, I'm a bad mom. My boys go out - but not my daughter. She will run wild and she's just too crazy to be at the pool. She WILL run and jump in. I just know it. She has no fear!

K - I'll shut up and go get ready... I'm extremely proud of you for hanging on... each day - better and better. Just remember what all of the people here say who have been clean for a while... that the cravings get easier and easier. STAY BUSY! SO proud!

So, you can't say "I am clean!" if your taking any type of medication in NA/AA? I don't agree with that AT ALL! Like you, I believe some have legitimate, medical problems that require medication and if you are under a doctor's care and are not abusing that particular medication, what's the problem? I thought saying "I am clean!" meant you were not abusing your drug of choice! Again, that is BS! Sorry if offends anyone, but don't agree there!

Too bad, because I am going to say "I am clean!" as I feel like I am!

I'll get back to you on the tantrums and sunburn and my daughter (2yr.old) sounds like yours- NO FEAR! The first time we went to the pool, my husband was with me, thank goodness, because baby love just took off and thank goodness my husband was a track star in his day! I feel like I get a workout taking all three to the pool by myself- but that is exactly what I need right now so I am not complaining! (I may be by the end of the summer though! )

Okay- have fun tonight. Talk later!
Michelle

M, I think it is safe to say you ARE clean. Pretty soon, you will be into week 2, then a month, then several months, etc., and the time does fly, trust me. Keep it up!
