my methadone withdrawal

hello family,

i am still continuing on my withdrawal. i have reduced 42mg so far. i continue to come down 3mg every 3 days and am at 98mg now. michelle mentioned provigil and i may be put on this medicine at my next psychiatrist appt.

good luck to everyone in their battles. we all know the struggles and trials we go thru. i still read this board everyday and keep an eye on everyones situation as much as i can. in the beginning when i first stopped using i didnt have anything but this board and it was my only escape from the reality of staying clean and not being able to use or get high no more. i thot it would never get better. but it has. and i am so thankful. my depression is still a problem but i havent given up and still go to counseling every week or two.

i hope to keep withdrawing at this same rate until im either off methadone entirely or i start feeling sick and have to slow my rate of withdrawal. right now its steady as she goes

Re: my methadone withdrawal

Rock! I've missed you! I'm so glad you checked in with us. Can I ask you - how long were you on Meth? And like you said, HAVE you had any symptoms or is the rate you are going o.k.? I'm a little surprised at the dosage they had you on. That's a crap load of methadone. Or is it? Is that the normal? Was that for chronic pain AND addiction or just addiction?

We missed you and glad you wrote. Please keep in touch!!!! I'm particularly interested in your taper as I will be doing this w/Sub eventually. Possibly sooner than later.

Re: my methadone withdrawal

SO GOOD to hear from you Rock! Glad things are slow and steady right now! Definately keep me updated with your progress- K?

I am on day 12 clean. Can you believe it took this long? I think you were one of the posters that hurt my feelings because you implied that I wasn't ready to quit! Well, looks like you were right! I am just so glad that I finally did! Still struggling with certain issues but it is slowly getting better.

Okay, I'll be looking for your posts- don't be a stranger!!!

Re: my methadone withdrawal

Rock-
Good to hear you are going for it-im also going down on the sub-and so far its cool-but a couple months from now will be a new battle.
Hey we are fighting the fight-and its not easy-but its good to see you check in..and you are doing well!
Just stay close to this board-cos we are family-no kidding-this is my first stop every morning-my on-line meeting-so many kind/well-informed people..
Are we blessed or what????

I understand the depression issue-and still go to therapy every week-take meds etc-but im getting better-its slow moving but when i do something i would never have done previously esp. when i was using-i know its getting better.Applying for a new job/taking care of myself/exercise-etc..thease were dreams when i was strung out-and God knows-i was bad off.
Goddess Bless you!
