Question First steps?

We are planning to start ttc in the immediate future, and I'm just wondering what to do first to prepare my body. I am currently taking birth control (Triphasil - I finish my current pack this weekend) and I understand I should be off of it for at least 3 months before we start trying. I also take Amytriptalene (30mg/day) to manage persistant headaches. Does anyone know if I should be off it as well before shooting for conception? Any other suggestions of things to take or not? Thanks!

Re: First steps?

Go see your doctor and explain you are wanting to start ttc. Ask about your med because he/she can tell you if it is safe or not. Your doctor can do a preconception check up on and answer other questions you may have.
Second make sure you are taking a multi-vitamin that has folic acid in it or take a prenatal vitamin. You need to be taking it at the very least a month before you start ttc.
