Question Halos and Lasik

I had Lasik surgery a year ago and still have halos around lights
while driving at night. I will talk to my doctor, but could this be
happening because my eyes are dilating too much?

What can I do about this? Right now I wear driving glasses, but
I would prefer a different method.

Thanks.

Re: Halos and Lasik

Unfortunately, I don't believe there is any treatment for halos. I suffer from this as well. The best they could do was give me this Crizal anti -glare lens. They are very expensive, and seemed to help a little, but now they are in effective.

Re: Halos and Lasik

there are some eye drops that can help with halos by preventing the pupils from dilating as much. I am not sure that eye drops are a better solution than driving glasses. definitely talk to your doctor about options.

Re: Halos and Lasik

Thank you for the replies.

I thought about it and night driving glasses probably
would be the best and most affordable way for me to
deal with this problem.

I am really not too worried about it.
I have worn glasses since I was 3 years old,
so having to wear them only at night isn't that
big of a deal. My Lasik was still a great success.

I will talk to my doctor just to see what he says.

Thanks again!

Re: Halos and Lasik

If possible, please update this after you talk to your doctor. I had lasik last week and I have mild halos at night. They are not enough to cause problems for me at night from a safety standpoint but they are a little annoying. I am hoping that they will go away. I have read that for a lot of people the halos do diminish over time but obviously for others it is something that stays around.
