I was diagnosed with acid reflux recently and was prescribed prevacid. What followed was intolerable bloating/gas. So my doctor said to switch to zantac, and for a day the bloating and the gas subsided but then it returned with a vengence. So I stopped the zantac and the symptoms subsided.
Does anyone know if there are other acid-blockers or a natural supplement to combat acid reflux that doesn't cause the feeling of trapped gas? It was so bad that I couldn't sit for very long and had to pace around and try to burp it out. I couldn't lie on my stomach because of the cramps and could hear the gas gurlging around. The whole episode caused me a great deal of anxiety, and I don't know what to do now. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
