the FDA is cracking down on domperidone

Has anyone heard about this? Domperidone, a drug used to treat gastroparesis, is avaiable in Canada and Europe but has never been approved by the FDA in the U.S. The only way to get it in the U.S. is by way of a special pharmacy called a compunding pharmacy, but the FDA has ordered those pharmacies to stop making domperidone. I have gastroparesis, and I cannot take Reglan because it gives me neurological side effects. Domperidone is my only choice. If I cannot get it at a compounding pharmacy, what other options do I have? I've heard about getting it from Canada, but am not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

FDA is cracking down on it because pregnant mothers are using it because one of the side effects is lactation. They should stop the compounding pharmacies, but not foreign country imports. Your GI doctor should be able to help you procure this drug. My wife was able to get it through Canadat through her doctor.
