Question Gall bladder removal

Hello new to the board. A year ago, i had 2 surgerys at once. One to remove my gall bladder, and another woman problem, Endodemtrosis. Well anyways, i was wondering if there is any list of food i can eat, since i had my gall bladder removed. Ever since it was removed, i had diarrhea, non stop. Everytime I go out to eat or something, i have to wait for like 20 min then i have to go to the bathroom. I am sorry if this is not a nice subject. But it really upsets, i cry everytime it happens.. anyone who can help, i would appreciate it gracey

Gracey, Please dont cry! You are not alone with this problem!!! May i ask if you are a heavy person? I am not sure if weight is even relevent, however, right off the top of my head i can think of 4 close people to me who are the same exact way and all 4 are heavy. But only 2 of them have had there gall bladder out years ago. So i am not sure if weight or the removal of the gallbladder are factors. My close girlfriend is one of them i am talking about, she used to be thin, she says that since she gained weight that is when these untimely bowel movements became a problem. Gracey, if you havent already, talk to your doctor. With all the new medications on the market and all the tests that can be done, you shouldnt have to live this way. I wish you all the luck in the world. Wendy

Hi there....

I had my gallbladder removed... You have to try to stay away from the higher fat foods... That is the only time I seem to have trouble... The extra fat has to go somewhere since there is no where to process it now. hence the loose bowel. Also a have heard a lot are troubled by diary actually becoming lactose intolerant. But I would talk to your Dr. some get irritable bowel syndrome after having their gallbladders removed. hope you are feeling better soon!

Re: Gall bladder removal

Hi there,

I'm sorry you are having a hard time with this. I am curious to hear more from others as well.
I had my gall bladder removed 8 days ago and ANYTHING i eat goes right through me, sometimes before I am even done eating.
I was advised to stay away from the foods that triggered my attacks for at least 3 weeks, so basically I have been eating rather light.
Grilled chicken, toast, cereal, soups. This morning I had half a bagel and suffered immensely before I even finished it.
I am not over weight...if anything I keep losing weight because I cannot keep anything in. Not to mention it is extremely embarassing.
I feel your pain and let me know what your doctor says as I have to wait a month before I see him.
Good luck.
