rib pain??

Hello all, I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. ON my left side, if you were to take your right hand and go across you chest and hold your side somewhat under your arm, I seem to have a constant ache. Tylenol and Aleve don't really seem to be doing much to help. It does not hurt to touch, but yet if I move certain ways it does make it worse. Sometimes it feels as if my ribs, both right and left are being squeezed. I have no idea what this could be and any replies would be appreciated.

I get a pain in my ribs as well. Fortunatly, a friend of my moms had gone to emergency room for hers and the doctor said that it was gas. Mine isn't constant though, but when it hits, I cannot move because it feels as though someone is stabbing me. It moves from either one side or the other. Mine only lasts for like 5 minutes or so or until I work out the gas bubble with my fingers and making myself move.

Also, my husband had a friend who had floating ribs and hers would hurt a lot.

Don't know if this helps or not. My suggestion is to go see a doctor about it.

Thanks for your reply. I know I should go see a doctor, but as usual I'm putting it off!! Its only been a few days and I'm hoping it will resolve on its own! The strange part about the whole thing is it is more like a constant ache and it feels worse when I eat!!
Swallowing makes it more painful, somehow I just can't equate the two!!

I guess my problem started about 5 Month ago. I started having mild pain/pressure in my chest various on points. I have no cough, no breathing problem. My ECG is normal. Ecogrophy is normal. But now i feel mild pain/pressure on back. and some time in arms. not a pain but something exist. i don't describe it. i have also Stomach gas problem. i was perform tests LFTs and HCV, HBV. these are also normal. Heart Specialist Doctor Saying it is Muscular / Gas / Tension Problem.

please help me and release my tension.

I just need to know if anyone else is experiencing anything like this. This is realy scary business.
