Losing my mind

I had surgery in March to correct a deviated septum and clear a blockage in my nose, that was causing infections. Before that, I was dizzy, stuffy, and just plain miserable.

For a while after the surgery, I was fine. But now I'm dizzy again! The doctor did an endoscopy and can't find any evidence of an infection.

The dizzy feeling is like a sense of disequilibrium, or unsteadiness. Not vertigo, just an unbalanced feeling. I also have pressure in the sinuses, especially around the eyes.

Can this be caused by allergies alone? Has anyone else suffered from this? I've tried allergy meds, and they don't work.

Re: Losing my mind

I'm with ya all the way. I think us poor sinus suffering people will always have to deal with that horrible feeling of unbalance. I have a chronic sinus issue, and though I don't have an infection anymore, every once in awhile I just don't feel quite right. Not anywhere near the way I felt when the infection was bad, but now and then I feel like the dizzyness is coming back. I am convinced it something I will live with for the rest of my life. UGGHHH!!!

Re: Losing my mind

"unbalance" is exactly right. It doesn't feel like vertigo. It's more like a lack of equilibrium. I've been irrigating every morning, and the discharge is crystal clear -no signs of an infection.

I should say that my sinus symptoms were worse prior to surgery, but for some reason, the pressure and imbalance remain.

Re: Losing my mind

I had it done once for another problem (bad drug reaction to Avelox). Didn't really give it much of a chance. I can see how it might help with neuropathic pain, but sinusitis?
