Bleeding for a half hour....

2 nights my son, age 14, cut himself on something and the bleeding would not stop for about a half hour. It was just a small wound. We were at a motel and he had been in a pool, hot tub and bath tub for a bit over 2 hours. I don't know if this may be part of it. He has had many wounds and several surgeries in the past without this ever happening before. Any ideas??? Thanks!

You didn't indicate where the cut was exactly. It could be possible he hit a vien or small artery.

It was near his elbow on the inside of his arm.
