My nasty veins

I had laser surgery on my spider veins and some of them are gone. Now, my problem is that I had a v/vein that had to be flushed out. I had this done over a month ago, and I am now walking around with some nasty looking bruises, and hard knots under them that are pretty painful. Has anyone ever had this done before? Is this normal? I called to make an appointment with the doctor that had done it and its going to cost me even more money just to be seen. $500.00 already down the tubes and he wants more just to look at it. Any advise? That vein looked better than the bruises!!

Re: My nasty veins

i had both vericose & spider veins injected in May & a follow up in June. The spider veins cleared right away, the two larger vericose take a little longer. I had to have re-injected b/c it didn't close all the way - which is REALLY common. They are more difficult to close and sometimes it takes 3 injections to get them to close all the way. Also it takes at least 6 months for all the veins - both spider & vericose to be totally absorbed. The $500 just to see the doctor would discourage me BIG TIME! I had mine done at Laser Meds skin & vein clinic. Places like this don't charge for office visits just the procedures. Both sessions cost me a total $840.00. Before having this done I consulted with my dermatologist for a second opinion he wanted to charge $50 office visit fee plus $350.00 for a 15 minute session. At the laser clinic both sessions were 1 hour long and I am VERY HAPPY with the results. Perhaps you would come out better if you ditched the doc & found a similar clinic. Good Luck.
