Need Help, please reassure me before I really FReak out!

Hello again,
I just really need someone to tell me "its nothing" before I run off to the ER again and end up with a huuuge bill for nothing.

I've been having pain in my lower right quadrant all day today. It tends to somewhat subside when I dont walk. The only the thing I can compare it to is menstrual pain (def NOT it since I'm not even close to my period) or a runners cramp. I've also been experiencing some frequent uranination the last week or so, which I went to see a doc for. I figured it was a UTI and so did she, so i was perscribed 3 pills of Levaquin for me which I finished taking today. The only thing is, I've had UTIs before and there was never actual pain, just discomfort. Especially since my antibiotics are done and the UTI is supposedly gone. The only thing I noticed today was some slight gas and heartburn(which isnt too unsual for me since I have IBS)

Since the pain hasnt gone away all day I started looking it up and the only thing that keeps popping up is Appendicitis, ironically enough I wasn't experiencing any nausea until I started reading about appendicitis, which leaves me even more confused since I can't tell if the nausea is related to the pain, was brought on my sheer worry and stress of having my appendix burst, or is a result of my not having anything to eat all day because of the anxiety.

Can this possibly just be gas or something else? Or should I continue freaking out?

Thanks for any help.

hello,
a couple of questions:

do you have a fever?

are you sexually active? if so is there a chance you could be pregnant?

have you ever experienced an ovarian cyst? they are quite painful.

did your pain start in the middle of your stomach and move to the right side?

i am sorry to say but no one here can diagnose you. if you feel you need medical attention, by all means get some

The best way to try and determine if it is the appendix that is causing your problem is by what is called "rebound tenderness".When you palpate the area that is painful, when you press down with your hands do you feel pain when pushing down,or when you let go?If it is when you let go,you have the rebound,if not, you don't. Abdominal RLQ pain along with rebound tenderness and running a fever are all indications of a possible appendix problem.if you feel this pain is really interferring with your daily living, you should see your doc.Good luck,Marcia

Re: Need Help, please reassure me before I really FReak out!

I just went last week to the ER have a huge bill, was a UTI had a fever of 105 for a few days, they seem to be harder to get rid of anymore, I have had to go to the bathroom more in the last few days, now that the treatment is over than I ever had. bladder infections can cause that kind of pain also. But i recomment to everone I know to go to the drugstore and get the home testing kit. There are quite a few tests in there so you can use it a few times, its for bladder and urinary tract infections
