Post HELP HAIR COLOUR PROBS

I have medium brown hair and starting to get quite a lot of grey. I coloured my hair with a temporary colour that was ment to last 8 shampoos. I specially picked this product as it had no ammonia or peroxide and said it would not lighten hair. I have found that it is not washing out and I have obvious regrowth of an inch. The rest of my hair has a red tinge. I am using Clairol clarifying shampoo to try and wash it out but its not helping. Do you have any suggestions. I am trying to grow my hair long after getting permanent colours cut out! Thanks for any advice.

I have dyed my hair about every color there is going from dark black to white blonde. what u need is called a stripper for your hair. Its called hair stripper it will take out any color u have dyed into your hair. It will not damage your hair or dry it out. I also have naturally dark hair but have white hair that grows naturally aswell. Next time u dye your hair try permanant color even if u hate it the stripper will get it out. Good Luck

When you play with color yourself you run the risk of things like that happening. I hope maybe next time you will be more hesitant about doing it yourself. You can try mixing your regular everyday shampoo with baking soda to make a thicker consistancy and let it sit in your hair. That is the best stripping shampoo you can get. You were right to try and strip it out of your hair. Go to your hairstylist and have them color it back to your natural color. But depending on how much gray you have, you may have to color your hair with permenant color b/c semi permenant color is not formulated to color much gray. Although it will color some (if you have a small amount) it will fade faster than permenant b/c it doesn't sink into your cuticle as much, it just coats it. so try stripping it with baking soda and go talk to your hairstylist.

I have found almost any hair dye I use no matter how long it was supposed to last, if it was supposed to last more than 2-3 shampoos I will get regrowth.

This isn't such a problem for me as I have no grey hair yet and if I stick with something that will fade to natural it won't hurt.

If you like the color you could also try re-dying just the roots, but you make it sound like you don't want your hair dyed anymore.
