Please help me with my sister's chest tightness symptoms....

Hi. My 26 year old sister has been complaining of tightness in her chest (not pain) for about a week on and off. She thinks it's anxiety but she's not sure why she's anxious. She's going to the Dr's today since it's been going on for more than a couple of days. What could be the cause? She's also complaining of sometimes having her heart race and seems to skip here and there. She's complaining of trouble sleeping lately too which i just asked her if it's because of too many thoughts running through her mind or becasue of the symptoms. don't know yet of her response. Anyone else have these things and what was your diagnosis? I'm nervous for her.

Re: Please help me with my sister's chest tightness symptoms....

I've had these symptoms. Sounds like anxiety to me. I also have been daignosed with anxiety when I couldn't pinpoint what on earth was causing it. Sometimes its just there. Things we have going on in life, even good stress (marriage, change of jobs, promotion, etc) can cause anxiety. The sleepless nights, chest tightness, and heartbeat skips are clear symptoms of anxiety. They have several medications that help and also therapy is very helpful. I hope all goes well and please don't worry yourself into anxiety too.
