Post Stretch marks

Hi everybody ,

I'm new to the beauty board, I have been poking my nose around for a while and see that you all have great ideas. I am looking for something to help with stretch marks. I got a lot from my pregnancy and I want them to go away! I have tried creams but I think I was fooling myself into thinking they would work. I was a sucker. Is there anything out there that will help?

Cammy

You may think this is strange because it will sound that way. Genetics again play a large role in whether you are prone to stretch marks or not, but you can help it from the very beginning when you discover you are pg is to apply a thin coat of Virgin Olive Oil at night and rub it thoroughly in(it does absorb)and during the day I used cocoa butter cream(Palmers)and it just worked for me, honest, I'm a grandmother now and I never had stretch marks on the belly but I did on my thighs which I never used it on, guess I didn't think I'd get any there. My 2 daughters both used the same and one did get some stretch marks and other didn't. It was handed down from the great grandmothers.

Mederma supposedly can be used to fade stretch marks. I've used it on scars and it works great on those, but I didn't use it for long on my stretch marks because it made the skin dry and peely and very, very itchy. And I have so many darn stretch marks it takes an awful lot of Mederma to cover them, and they sure ain't giving the stuff away.

You can greatly reduce the appearance of stretch marks if you do something while they are still red.
I got some after gaining alot of weight fast at the top of my legs. They were a couple inches long, and I had 4 of them. I used strech mark cream, it was some formula for preggy women. It had Cocoa butter in it.
I would put pure vit-E oil on first before bed, then I put on the stretch mark lotion over top of it.
It took about 2-3 months for it to fade to skin tone color. It's been 2 years now and it hasn't turned silvery or white looking...I can see where it was if I really look for it.

I got it at a 24 hour drug store with all the skin care potions and lotions. Try looking near the cocoa butter. If you can't find it, I'd try putting 100% pure cocoa butter first then put Vit-E on top of that.
