lumps in my scalp

i have these lump like ,very sore to touch lumps or knots pop up near my temple in the scalp or the side of my head or back of head.they are very painful and if i wiggle my scalp it hurts. they stay for about a week and then are gone as quick as theycame. any one ever heard anythinglike this?
please let me know what you think it could be.

I know you posted this along time ago but can I ask where in your temple do you mean and what size are these ? The reason I ask is that I currently have a small lump in my temple which gives me a stabbing pain if I press it, I wondered whether it was a little lymph node but Im not sure if we have nodes near our temples ?

Wen's cysts. They are non-cancerous cysts that come and go in the scalp area. They can be removed in a general surgeon's office.

thanks for your reply.. what kind of size can these cysts be- mine is really quite small. Also it is well under the skin, cant be seen, only felt and moves around like a lymph node does.... is that what they can be like ?
