Small lump behind ear..?

I've had this little bump behind my left ear for a while now. It's at the area where the lobe meets the cartilage, and where the ear meets the head.. That lovely little crevis, if you can picture it. It was really rather small for a long time, and I just assumed it was some sort of pimple or gland. I haven't been paying much attention to it, but I think it got a bit bigger, but only slightly, and then smaller again, but I recently felt it, and it feels like it's gotten larger again (though it's still pretty small. Not visible really unless you push the lobe forward). It's a bit uncomfortable to prod, but not excessively painful or anything. It seems like it could be a gland, but I don't know. I'm a 15-year-old female, and I became a vegetarian a few months ago, if any of that that could have anything to do with it. I also had lymphangioma removed from the right side of my neck 2 years ago. Bleh, I've just gotten all paranoid now, so if anyone has information or ideas as to what this could be, it would be greatly appreciated. ^^;

Re: Small lump behind ear..?

My friend's boyfriend has one of those. She said that it has a name and it's some sort of cyst or something like that. Apparently it's something the doctors would like to remove but he doesn't want to do it. His is huge, though. Sorry I don't remember what it's called. But I think she said that it isn't immediately threatening, just something they would rather remove than leave there. If you go to the doctor they should know what it is, and since it is still small, it shouldn't be too hard to remove.

Re: Small lump behind ear..?

sounds like what I had yrs ago but mine became inflammed and it hurt it just to touch it. my dr.lanced it and squeezed out the substance inside. it was filled with a oily cheeze like substance. they're pretty nasty.
I guess it can be the ducts that block up and cause a cyst. dirty earrings can cause it too.
using someone elses earrings too. without cleaning them. that's my experience anyway.
always best to get a doctors opinion though. they'll be able to determine what it is.
good luck
