Buzzing/twitching muscles,Dizziness,Uncontrolled heart and more. Help
Hi I am hoping that someone can shed some light as to what is happening to me and if it relates to any specific disease or condition. I am a 29 year old male.
About 3 months ago I went to bed and felt that my heart was very uncontrolled and on occasion was adding an occasional extra beat, below are the symptoms that have developed over the next 3 months
Very slight dizziness (this started about 4 weeks before the heart problem)
Felling of uncontrolled heart beat with the occasional extra beat occurring when I go to bed. The heart beat does not quicken or slow during these periods although it beat's with a stronger pulse than normal.
Vague abdominal pains and constipation
Pain around my left Kidney that seems to come from my spine with some muscle twitching
Slight pains in my back and neck
Increased dizziness and light headiness with a lack of concentration.
Vague tightness like a chesty cold/cough (though it is not) in my upper lungs chest leading to the base of my neck.
What feels like an internal shivering sensation in my upper body and usually occurs at night and first thing in the morning.
Ear pains with numbness in the right ear, a sharp stinging pain that shoots down my eustuen tubes
Stinging sore throat that has some connection the eustian tube stinging, some mouth ulcers. Some tinnitus sounds.
Infected sweat glands on my chest and shoulders (Penicillin based antibiotic prescribed)
Increasing twitches through out my body.
Increasing neck pains
Increasing tinnitus sounds
What feels like a buzzing sensation in my legs, this has spread to my arms and occasionally other areas such as my scalp.
10 min episode of complete uncontrolled muscle twitching mostly in my legs and slightly more to the left side.
My current symptoms as I write are Extreme light headiness, muscle twitching and buzzing, upper chest pains and tightness, slightly uncontrolled heart sensations, slight neck and back pains, general lack of energy.
I have seen the following specialists ENT and an Endocrinologist I have an appointment with a Neurologist next week.
I have had a number of tests which include so far
3 ECG's 2 were normal the other had a slight third beat but I was told it was ok.
Blood tests for Red and white blood count which come out as normal, low colestorol count, normal Thyroid function.
Normal blood pressure
MRI on my head, there were know sign's of MS, Acoustic neuroma etc.
MRI on my spine, there was slight bulging of the discs L4 and L5 but with no impingement of the spinal cord through out.
Chest X-ray which was ok
Lower abdominal ultrasound which is ok
Barium X-ray for stomach and hernia problems which was ok.
Ear tests that include hearing and pressure slight hearing loss on the right side.
Vestibular balance testing there is a 9% loss on the right side.
And that is it so far
I am beginning to think that I could be stuck like this for some time and I don’t see how I can carry on working much longer as I just feel so much worse when I am stuck in front of a computer for 10 hours a day. Can any one think what it could be? all I can think of for my next tests are Addison's disease, Pernicious Anaemia (this runs in my family though I am a bit to young to have this at the moment) Some kind of test for electrolyte imbalances, maybe some form for brain and muscle nervous system type tests.
Please can anyone help. C

Re: Buzzing/twitching muscles,Dizziness,Uncontrolled heart and more. Help
wow what a list.. weird thing is 98% of it sounds like me at the moment, the only difference is I am a female aged 33.. but mine has been going on for one year and I have only just found a doctor that will listen to me and do some tests (most of the other Doctors told me it was anxiety)...I have had ECG's done as well and they have all come back fine, they only thing they know at the moment is that I have an infection but they have no idea where as my temp has been up for over a week and my white cells are up (I think thats the one they show you have an infection)... I go through stages that I can be ok for a week or two then all of a sudden its hits me and I am in bed for a few days, have no energy etc, the only thing that is consistent is the heart beat and the dizzyness and heavy head feeling and a lack of concentration, the shivering is weird. I have not had a MRI yet as I mentioned I have only just found this doctor but he has taken a lot of blood tests and it going to refer me next week... my numbness is in my left ear. Sorry I cannot give you any ideas as I said my Doctor is new to this but I am confident that he will come up with something really soon but I will definately let you know when I find something, in fact I had to print your message out so I could reply to it so I might take ti with me next time when I see him!!! One question, do you get cold????

Re: Buzzing/twitching muscles,Dizziness,Uncontrolled heart and more. Help
Hi CDA
My symptoms do go up and down from one week to the next especially the heart and chest pains although my Dizziness and muscle twitching are constant now. In the last 3 months there was a period of about 10 days when the dizziness seemed to be improving, I felt almost back to normal. These 10 days happened during and a little after the first antibiotic (Amoxicillin I think) when I had the Infected sweat glands although I think it was likely a coincidence.
Both my blood tests have been normal showing no signs of elevated white blood cells, this indicates that there are no sign of infection, although it fells like I have a bad cold or cough.
I have started to measure my temperature in the morning because I do feel cold some times, although some times when I eat or drink I have this intense internal heat that is not generated from exercise. The reason I'm doing this is because you can determine if your Thyroid function is normal, it's called the Barnes test, see below.
Barnes test
Considered to be 85% accurate. The patient measures his/her temperature first thing, daily, under the armpit with a digital thermometer for 4 minutes and record the reading. Take an average over 4 days (30 days for menstruating women). It should be within 1 degree of 97.6F /36C. Temperatures are often between 95F and 96F for hypothyroid suffers.
It seems like mine is working ok as my temperature is around 36C everyday.
I have had some thing called the BEST test which is a some what controversial system of measuring your body's reaction to some kind of electrical impulses.
A good site that explains what it is. http://www.biotechhealth.com/default.htm
I only had the food intolerance and Vitamin/Mineral tests (see below), I get re-tested next week so I may ask them to do the other tests as well, although I am not really convinced how accurate these tests really are.
The results indicated that I was lacking EPA (fish oils), acidophilus (good gut bacteria), Chromium, Zinc, Magnesium and that I had Candida (yeast infection) which was most likely caused buy antibiotic use.
I also had some food intolerances (not allergy's) such as dairy products, wheat, sugar, sorbitol, chocolate, coffee, vinegar and some others. They said that most of these were likely to be resolved when the Candida was under control.
I have started to take Magnesium and Zinc. Magnesium deficiency reads like a list of the symptoms I have, although I have been taking 600mg per day for one week I have not noticed any improvement except with the large muscles twitching.
Anyway keep me posted on the outcome of your blood tests and I'll post any findings from my next tests what ever they maybe.
Good luck C

Re: Buzzing/twitching muscles,Dizziness,Uncontrolled heart and more. Help
The heart rate thing & the dizziness & light headedness can all be from stress/anxiety & they lead to panic. Have you been unduly stressed from something lately? If so, it can cause many physical symptoms there are no answers for from tests.
Not saying it's all in your head, but stress & anxiety can cause many of these symptoms, once we have them, we begin to dwell on them & it can cause panic attacks that lead to the symptoms feeling like they are becomming worse & also not leaving. The intense attention to your heart rate when going to bed is a common symptom of stress/anx. & panic attacks. The sensation in your legs can be from the bulging disc even with no impingement. Now the ear pain & other ear & throat problems can be from TMJ. That can also be caused by stress. Do you notice you grit your teeth during the day when under stress?
I know a lot of this as I have most of what you listed. Irregular bowels can also be from stress. I have a bulging disc, which i dealt with thru physical therapy, have TMJ, had 19 different anti-bitoics for ear infection 5 years ago, numerous tests only to find out the ear problems were all caused from the jaw joint as I have it worn down from gritting from stress.
As I explained, I also have the irregular heart rate, the racing heart etc. It can take on a life of its own. Once it happens, the more you think about it, the more it happens & it's a horrible pattern to break. The only way I can break it is by upping my nerve pills til I break the cycle. Once I get really upset, the heart thing starts & I have to up my meds to get it under control again, can take up to a week or more at times. I wouldn't even comment on any of these if I hadn't seen you had so many tests that came back normal. Please visit the panic board at this site, you will find that many of your symptoms are what everyone on there experiences & also many have gone thru all kinds of tests, only to find nothing wrong. In the end it turns out to be stress/anxiety & panic. Let me know how you are doing.

Re: Buzzing/twitching muscles,Dizziness,Uncontrolled heart and more. Help
Hi Thanks for the reply
Been having a look around the anxiety area, I now think that a lot of my symptoms are very similar to others there. The thing is I don’t get any kind of attacks it just seems to be constant with my dizziness worse when I am in front of the screen at work. I actually really like my job and I have some really good friends in what is a chilled out working environment. I don’t have anything to get anxious about outside of work either, I have a fantastic family and friends, who I love to be around.
Anyway I'll just try to chill out a bit and try to not think about things so much.
