Re: Could this be something other than my heart?

Dont dwell on them or they will continue to happen due to the anxiety related to thinking about them!

Also, they are pretty much non-existant during the morning and early afternoon - after lunch and towards late afternoon they get worse. I take my Ziac (beta-blocker) around lunch time - I wonder if that makes them worse.

Anyways - is there anyway these aren't heart palps but something stomach /rib related? I truely am beginning to think that is where this feeling is coming from?
have you checked information on Magnesium It is susposed to be great for heart things, I suggest you read all you can on it. dode

Re: Could this be something other than my heart?

One way to check if the "palpitations" are your heart or not. When you feel them Check your pulse at your wrists or neck. If the beating in your chest is close to the pulse you feel in your wrists/neck then my guess would be they are in your heart. If not, then maybe they are muscle spasms in your abdomen?

I'm no doc or anything, just a though :-)

Re: Could this be something other than my heart?

sounds like it is most likely pvc's. some people feel them in their throat so why not between their ribs. you will know soon from the holter but in the meantime try cutting out carbs at your meals - i mean simple carbs like bread, pasta, rice, sugar... because for a lot of people who get them after meals it is because they have eaten carbs that cause their insulin levels to rise to rapidly and for some reason this seems to affect pvc's. it definitely does for me and since i have cut them out for the most part except for the occasional splurge i have minimal pvc's. i have also been taking 500 mg's of magnesium which i am sure has made a huge difference as i have not had to take my beta blocker once since starting the magnesium. both suggestions are risk free - give them a try. good luck and keep us posted on your holter results
