Question Level III Spinal stenosis question - THANKS

Hi everyone. This is my first post. Can anyone tell me what "Level III cervical spinal stenosis" means? I know what stenosis is, but I don't know what the physiatrist means by "Level III" in describing my condition. I was involved in a bad whiplash accident a number of years ago and have pain while sitting behind a desk for any length of time. I assume it denotes a functional ability for work. Thanks for any help!
