Pain under left breast.

Hi, i'm new here so I thought I would introduce myself.

I am a 20 year old male at about 190 lbs. I am not very active physically and I smoke marijuana on a semi regular basis.

This all seems to have begun one night after having smoked some marijuana, my heart had started pounding. (I am aware that one of the effects of marijuana is a hightened heart rate) I got achy pains in both my elbows and my heart was going probably 100 bpm as opposed to my 50 bpm at rest. Now after that day I have been having heart palpitations at work or when I was on the computer and I was very worried, so I went to the doc and he had me do blood tests and an Electrocardiogram which both came back lookin' good. My doctor then scheduled an echocardiogram and a 24 hour holter which I have yet do to as the tests are scheduled for the 26th of October.

Now its been over a month since the initial night when I had smoked marijuana and had the anxiety attack I guess you could call it. But now I am worried because I have been getting pains under my left breast which come and go. If I am sitting up on a high backed leather computer chair and recline a bit, it seems to aggrivate the pain. If I stand up it seems to go away.

Now the pain in my chest is like pressure, as if someone is pressing down on my rib and there is a bit of a sore spot right where the pain usually is. On a scale of 1 to 10 i'd have to rate the pain as 2 to 5 or so. The pain does shift a bit sometimes in the middle of my chest, and other times on the right side. I don't know if I am just worrying too much and causing myself some stress but the pain really is worrying me.

Oh, and I don't know if this could be related but ever since that night i've had some diahhrea at first it was pretty bad it was all liquidy and such. But now it has solidified some. But its still kinda pasty. (sorry for the description of my poop)

Sorry for the length of the post but I wanted to be as descriptive as possible.

Re: Pain under left breast.

Max,

To me, it sounds most like you have an ergonomic problem with your computer and your chair. I think there's a nerve pinch somewhere in your mid thoracic spine. It really doesn't sound cardiac related at all.

Talk to somebody versed in proper desk posture and alignment (as if the human body could EVER adapt totally to such an environment)
Some stretching/yoga/massage if you can arrange it will help. Perhaps a trip to a chiropracter if you're so inclined (beware those who recommend an eternity of "treatment".)
The drug FLEXERIL (cyclobenzaprine) helps some people in a couple weeks.
Regular excercise will serve you well.

Re: Pain under left breast.

I was always told that if you can move around or drink liquid and make the pain move or go away, it is not cardiac related.
Good Luck
