I am looking for information to understand the outcome of my recent MRI test. I saw the Neurologist on Friday for them to conduct a radiculopathy test, which came out fine. But they referred me to an Orthopedic Surgeon and it will be a week until I go. My Neurlogist was conservative in giving information and there is so much available on the web that it is hard to understand. Anyway, this is the conclusion of the test. If anyone has information or good web sites to visit I would appreciate a response.
1. There is a straightening of the normal cervical lordosis consistent with muscle spasm. There is no evidence of abnormal signal intensity within the vertebral bodies or region of the cervical spinal cord.
2. There is a posterior disc protrusion at C4-5 with significant narrowing of the spinal canal and spinal cord compression. There is no significant neural foraminal narrowing identified.
3. There is a posterior disc bulge to the right at C5-6 with deviation of the spinal cord and mild neural foraminal narrowing on the right. There is no evidence of spinal cord copression at this level.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
