Microgestin Bcp

I just started the Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 and I am gaining weight and im just wondering if anyone else had this problem? Should I try another pill... Any help would be GREAT! Thanks

Hi-I just came across this post. I used to take Microgestin (that is the BCP I was on and I just stopped taking it about three weeks ago) Anways, I had been taking Estro-Step for many years and about six months ago I had to switch b/c my insurance stopped paying for it. I did gain about 5 lbs. but it might have been from my anti-depressant that I had just started taking around the same time.

I have used this bcp along with many others. Am currently fitted with mirena iud. I have found that whilst taking any hormone bcp or iud that I have gained weight and been unable to loose it until I stop taking them. The only time I have been a regular weight was during the 10 years that I was not taking any kind of birth control. When I did stop taking them I lost weight very easily.

The odd thing is that when i am not taking bcp, I get terrible cravings/binges leading up to my period but keep the weight off. But when I do take bcp the binges/cravings stop and I put weight on
