Can This Be Sinus Related?

For the last few months, Ive felt as if I have been on a boat. Always had a slightly off balence feeling. Back in the winter/spring, I had a couple sinus infections, in may, I was at a theme park , got soaked (it was like 55 degrees that day too)

My ears are blocked (the tubes feel like it anyway), no colored nasal discharge, just clear sometimes. And a feeling slightly above and to the rear of the right side of my head, of slight pressure. Taking Claritin seems to help somewhat, And lately Ive been using Sinuclense to flush my nose, etc.

Is it possible to have sinus problems/chronic infection without noticable congestion? After i irrigate my nose and blow, I get some serious LOUD popping in my ears, as if stuff is moving around.

Any suggestions?

Re: Can This Be Sinus Related?

Hi Adam
Yes it can be sinus related. I was dizzy for two months, Still am a little. I was told by the doctor that I have fluid in my ears from allergies. I am taking Flonase for it and it does seem to be working. I was dizzy 24/7 and I also felt like I was on a boat.
Hope this helped

Re: Can This Be Sinus Related?

Oh, YES, what you describe is definitely similar to my experience.

The ENT explained that the dizziness (feeling of everything being off-balance, and even to the extent of frequently experiencing the sensation of the room spinning) was caused by my sinuses being blocked; and, therefore, he said I was unable to equalize the pressure in my ears. The dizziness had gotten to the point that I had to be very careful how quickly I turned my head to look at something ...... if I didn't turn my head slowly enough, I would experience the dizziness.

I am new to the Healthboard, but see my first post about the success I've had using the upside down sinus flooding method. Using this method also completely eliminated the dizziness I had been experiencing for a long, long time.

Before using the upside down flooding method and experiencing total relief from dizziness, the only thing that had a positive impact on being able to equalize the pressure in my ears was using Yoga nasal breathing exercises. These exercises never eliminated the problem but did help.

Re: Can This Be Sinus Related?

Ive been using the sinuclense neti pot thing I found at the pharmacy, That seems to cause my ears to pop ALOT right after use. But its been a few days with no change. Ill ask about flonase next time Im at the doctors. See what happens. Its definitley scarey walking around on a boat all day!
