Effexor XR 5 days..Hairloss already!!!!

I just started Effexor XR (37.5mg) for daily anxiety and have already seen triple the amount of pillow hair than normal. In the shower I also had a huge amount of breakage where normally there was almost none. I need medicine for the anxiety, this I know. I am, however, unwilling to trade my hair for treatment. Has anyone on here been on Effexor? I have been on other SSRI's which caused some hairloss but definitely not this much right in the beginning. WHAT SHOULD I DO? If anyone has had this experience with Effexor or any other SSRI, does the breakage slow at all?? After starting Nizoral, (before adding Effexor), my shedding had almost completely stopped and now I am right back to square one. I am supplementing with two daily vitamins and 100mg of zinc as well as 50mcg of selenium. HELP!!!!

Can I mix propecia with Effexor? IMO this is somewhat senseless knowing that that the majority of the fallout is coming directly from the SSRI. ANy advice is greatly appreciated.

I haven't experienced anything like this on effexor xr, nor was I aware it was a side effect. Maybe I should check the pharmacy sheet again. I'd ask your doctor if I were you.

I believe hairloss can be a side effect for a small percentage of people on SSRI's. Effexor is already helping me in just 5 days of use.

If I were to continue using this or any other SSRI, however, I would be setting myself up for hairloss related depression further down the road. I'm not sure what to do. I am thinking about switching to 2.5-5mg of lexapro to see if that slows the loss. Its gonna be hard letting go of the Effexor though. I can actually think clearly for the first time in months.

Any other advice??????
