Has anyone heard good/bad about Seasonale?

I am pretty sure that it is called Seasonale. It is supposed to only allow you to get your period 4 times a year. I have previously been on BC for about 3 years and I stopped for about 7 months. I just recently tried to start Ortho Cyclen again and found I had no sex drive and was crabby towards my boyfriend. I do not remember experiencing these feelings before so stopped taking it immediately. I have only seen ads for Seasonale and am worried that only getting my period four times might hurt my body. Also wondering what kind of hormone levels it has.

If anyone has heard anything, please let me know.

Well, you have to balance the risks and benefits. Did you know the pill can mess with your insulin level too? I'd have the doc keep a close eye on you. With the smoking and family history I'd say you are definitely at an increased risk of side effects

I took Seasonale for about 6 months and did not like it. I was having huge amounts of breakthrough bleeding - like 4 weeks straight - and I gave my body 2 cycles to get used to it. It just wasn't for me.

I took seasonale for about 4 months and I couldn't take it anymore. Besides the breakthrough bleeding that lasted fo a few weeks each month. I was also really really evil most of the time. Another thing is it made my leg from my hip to my knee go numb. Not just numb but the pins and needles feeling that you get when your foot is waking up, but all the time in my leg. I finally figured out that it started around the time I started seasonale called my doc to complain and she thought I was nutty. She did change me and within 2 days the tingling stopped. Everyone is different but that is my story!

I've been on Seasonale for 11 months and for the most part it's been nothing but problems. I bleed for six weeks, have awful cramps, and I've gained 20 pounds even though my eating habits are better than ever and I exercise all the time. I bleed the entire second pack and then two weeks the third pack. I'm currently looking for another bc.
