Constant nausea.

Hey. I'm new to these forums and I am in desperate need for an answer. About a month ago, I started getting this constant nauseous feeling. When the symptoms persisted, I went to my doctor to see what he thought. He prescribed me a medicine (Raniditine, aka Zantac) that would reduce the amount of acid my stomach produced. It seemed to work for a time but now, a month later, I have this constant day-time nausea. I find that if I'm doing a physical activity (like participating in gym class) or when I'm talking to friends at school that it's not really there. But if I sit still for a while (like in the middle of class or when I am home) it comes back. I know this is confusing but I was hoping somebody would be able to give me some advice. I was looking at some other health forums and I found people with my symptoms.. but they all said that it was associated with tumors and/or other female related problems. Should I go back to my doctor? Should I see a specialist? Help. T___T

Re: Constant nausea.

Go to your doctor and ask for something stronger than Pepcid or Zantac. There are better things that will help. PPIs for instance. Or course, that is up to the doctor to determine but they do a better job than what you are taking.

These drugs can take up to a week or more to become effective but when they do you should have no problems if what you are suffering from is acid reflux.

If you are dealing with an anxiety issue, then that will have to be addressed differently.
