Refadin reaction??

I have been diagnosed w/ Lyme & Erlichia(sp). I have had these for a long time. I started Dox in Feb 04, Ceftin June 04, Both in Aug 04 and added Refadin 9/28/04. I saw no pattern until I went on Rifadin and became "ill" almost immediatly(2 days), Then friday I felt better than I have in years, just for a couple of days. Tuesday I was back to a bed in my office by afternoon;same today. My Dr. said if Refadin does'nt work we may go to IV therapy. Could my reaction to this drug be a sign that something is working or does refadin make everybody really sick. Thanks
Lance

Re: Refadin reaction??

Hi Lance, welcome to the board!

What doses are you taking of the Doxy and Ceftin? Have you been on the Doxy continuously since February? I have not heard of Rifadin. I am assuming it is an antibiotic? Are you taking it with Doxy and Ceftin? From your reaction to it, I think it may be working.

It is not unusual to treat tickborne illnesses with long-term, aggressive treatment especially if you have been sick for some time.
