Wondering if your weight matters when ttc

Hey everyone it's me again with a new question!!!!!
I am getting really worried becuase people keep telling all sorts of stuff about my low weight and getting pregnant and it's freaking me out.
I am only 5.0 foot tall and weigh 93-94lbs. I work out three to four days a week, but I eat really healthy. To me it's not about the quantity its about quality of food you eat. I was a vegetarian but since my DH and I are ttc I have started to eat chicken at least once a week.
All our friends and family, even co-workers keep telling me that I need to gain weight in order to be able to have a baby. They keep telling me that I'm too thin and that I either won't be able to conceive or I won't be able to have a healthy pregnancy cause the baby will be taking all the vitamins and minerals to grow leaving me with nothing.
Do you think its true. I am getting really worried and it's upseting me. My ob/gyn told me that as long as a woman gets her period regularly which I do then everything should be fine. He said he saw no problem at all.
Am I over analyzing?

They are wrong. As long as you have normal periods, your weight shouldn't have anything to do with it. I am 5'2" and normally 95 lbs (about 10 lbs underweight according to the "charts", but like you, I eat healthy for the most part and have a high metabolism). I got pregnant with my daughter when I was 21 the first time I had sex without a condom - no problem there...LOL! I am pregnant with my 2nd child (I am now 31 and married to someone else) and got pregnant the 2nd cycle after stopping the pill. I have a regular cycle and my weight had no bearing on my ability to get pregnant either time.

I did have difficulty gaining weight durig pregnancy with my first, especially in the beginning. I ended up gaining 25 lbs by the end (the minimum they wanted me to gain) and was back to my normal weight within just a few months without much effort. My baby was full-term and healthy at 6 lbs 7 oz. With this one, I had gained 1.5 lbs by my 9 week appointment, which is amazing for me. You'll be fine. Don't listen to everyone else. Why cause yourself additional stress and force your body to unnaturally gain weight?

I don't think you should have any problem getting pregnant if you get your period regularly. One thing you may want to confirm is the fact that you are ovulating regularly. This can be simply done with an Ovulation Predictor kit, by using a BBT thermometer or by going to your gyno and asking for a test to confirm ovulation. After you confirm that it's all a matter of time and luck and of course your partner. Good luck!
