somebody help me with my condition please!

ok here's my situation....

i had severe tightness of chest about 2 months ago that sent me into the ER. both the doctors and I thought it should be asthma since i have a history of asthma in the past. however, i realized that basically none of the medications for asthma helped with my condition at all. then i realized that my peak flow reading is pretty average (only a little bit below) a normal person. so why still the tightness in chest?

i then told my doctor that after each meal, i would feel like throwing up. kind of like havin the food comin bak up but i'm not really vomiting, just the feeling. and i'd belch (burp) for like the entire day....and when i have that, i have a harder time breathing. my doctor thinks that i might have some kind of stomach disorder so put me on prilosec 20 mg a day. ok, magically 95% of all my relux problems went away, however, i'm still experiencing tightness in chest for some odd reason. sometimes i'd feel a tingling feeling in the lung or some pain in the ribs and generally the bones around teh chest....what the hell is this? oh and i've noticed that after i take some 'tums' my symptoms clear up for a slight moment, nothing too exciting. so can anyone tell me what this is??

I'm going through the same exact thing right now. I would suspect that as a result of your acid reflux, you may have some sort of ulceration to your esophogus. If the prilosec is doing it's job, your esophogus will start to heal.

Re: somebody help me with my condition please!

Sounds like you have a hiatal hernia, which impairs swallowing for some people and interferes with digestion.A hiatal hernia is when the stomach is pushed up and causes a kink in the esophagus. This causes pain, discomfort, gas, nausea and many other symptoms.Antacids will only help the symptoms,(temporarily). To fix the problem you need to find a natural health care person or a Chiropractor who knows how to pull the stomach back down where it belongs. It is a simple procedure and fixes the problem. If you were in my area I would work with you. There are herbs such as slippery elm or aloe vera juice which will soothe and help with digestion. Wish you well.

Re: somebody help me with my condition please!

well couple days ago i saw a doctor and he believes that the tightness of chest that i have is due to anxiety/stress. which i partially agreed on and after trying some stress relief activities it actualy did help. so i'm kind of convinced now that stress is causing the chest tightness. however, i'm not sure about my reflux. good thing is i don't have reflux anymore thanks for 20mg of prilosec otc every morning. i'm goin to a see a GI doctor on nov. 8 about this. but my doctor don't think i have hiatal hernia because i don't have a problem swallowing. and the lump in my throat goes away wen i take prilosec. so i think he ruled that out and he believes i might just have a lose sphincter. waht do you guys think?

Re: somebody help me with my condition please!

Hello,
Have you ever heard of a hiatal hernia? You can have all the symptoms you mention and more. A hiatal hernia occurs when the stomach gets pushed up because of stress, wrong food combinations, gas. and other reasons. It causes a kink in the esophagus, and causes much discomfort includeng referred pain to the shoulder, arm, and more. The meds can help wiyh the acid reflux but until the stomach is pulled back down where it belongs you will not fix the problem and get rid of the symptoms you describe. It is a simple procedure to move it down, for someone trained in natural health methods. Some people get relief by using a hot water bottle, because heat relaxes and in some clients, the stomach will move down by itself. Some herbs that are "miracles" for this problem are slippery elm, and aloe vera juice. If you have never used natural health methods I'm sure you are probably wondering what tree I fell out of! I have used and taught these methods for over 20 years with great success. I hope you might be open minded enough to give it a try. What do you have to lose, except symptoms and a lot of anxiety.
Respectfully,
101
