Anyone ever get vertigo,dizziness...

I have many allergies - indoor and out. for the last few days I've had vertigo with some dizziness along with congestion and a feeling of fullness in my ears. Got so bad I went to the ER last night. head ct and ekg and chest x-ray were all clear - was on a monitor for a while and heart looked fine. left with a diagnosis of sinusitius and rx for antibiotic, antivert and told to stay on regular allergy meds. Just wondering if anyone has every dealt with this before. ER left me feeling a bit unsatisified since they could not say for sure why I had the vertigo.

Yes, most of us here know about vertigo and dizziness related to allergies. No one at the ER will be able to help you or understand why your dizzy. I suggest you see an ENT who specializes in sinusitis.

My thinking is that dizziness is the sinus's is either by blocked passages, inflamation, or a deviated septum. Sometimes deviated septums are not seen on a CTscan and maybe it needs to be looked at clearer and the only person that can do that is an ENT. I just got mine fixed and I'm way less dizzy and feel like I might be dizzy free when I am completely well!

However, there are some temporary fixes to dizziness in the sinus's like a steroid. Taking them along w/antibiotics should help. But, if dizziness returns again at another time then you need to get it looked at to see what is causing it to get it fixed. Sinus dizziness can be cured if the right ENT knows what is wrong and can fix it!

I think I know what you are experiencing. I've seen every doctor in the book since 4 years. My dizziness went away about a year ago when my doctor gave me flonase, but 3 weeks ago it started again. I am very discouraged ... In a few weeks I will be seeing an allergy specialist maybe he can help me. Because 4 years ago I saw 3 ENT, Sinus X-Ray, Sinus Scan and Head, Neurologist, many blood tests, gastro specialist, thyroid gland specialist, cardiologist etc... nothing ever came out except a sinus inflammation. If the allergy specialist does not work out I will maybe try to see a 4th ENT spcecialist. What is bizarre with these symptoms is that after I eat the sinus pressure, dizziness, extreme fatigue is always worse after I eat.

I hope you find what is causing your symptoms

Do you mean a spinning feeling with vertigo? I have been lightheaded for 7 years with my allergies. No spining just lightheaded. It is important for you to be exact with your symptoms. Yes, the innear ear can be affected by allergies and yes this can cause spinning, dizziness and lightheadedness.
