Re: Norco vs Vicodin

Vicodin uses more tylenol in their combinations of hydro and apap
Vicodin comes in 5/500, 7.5/750 and 10/650
Norco comes in 5/325, 7.5/325 and 10/325
You can take two of any strength norco without exceeeding the max single dose of apap "Tylenol" which is 1000mgs per dose or 4000mgs per day.
If you use apap products daily, don't drink and cut those numbers back to 2000mgs max apap per day to be safe.
Hope you get better relief, at least you liver is a bit safer.
Good luck, Dave
PS, Watson makes norco and they make a generic version too, there are some other generics with the same 325 of apap, Mallinckrodt and a couple others.

Re: Norco vs Vicodin

Hi Lisa,

It will diffenetly be safer and healthier for you with the reduced APAP. As to stronger, the most commonly Rx'd strength of vicodin is 5/500, so if your dr Rxs say Norco 7.5/325 or 10/325 you would be getting 1.5 - 2 times the the Hydro per pill. It's all going to depend on your dr as to what strength is Rx'd. And APAP does absolutely nothing for some types of pain. Neuropathic pain is what I suffer from and even a pound (pardon the gross exxageration) of Tylenol wouldn't help a bit. Hope you get Norco in the higher strength.
