growing taller at 20...unrealistic or realistic?

Hello,
First a little intro: I'm brand new to the board, I found this neat little health board after many many hours of searching for a decent health board that i could go to for help.
On to the topic: I am a 20 year old Female who is extremely unhappy with her height I am 5'1" and about 1/2, does anyone out there who is in the medical field or if not would you have information on what I can do to grow a little more? I've done extensive research and this is what i've come up with putting aside all those "growth pills" bogus websites....: height is determined by genetics (look at your immediate family for good a good idea) and also how well your diet is. Ok, so here is my info...my grandpa is 6'1", my grandmother before menopause was 5'4" and around a quarter maybe 1/2, their offspring are: my mom 5'5'' my uncle is also around 6'0", Ok my dad i'm not to sure about but I think he's between 5'8" and 5'9" so why am I so short? Any advice or help would be tremendously welcomed...I am taking calcium pills and drinking milk regulary and also i'm taking centrium for my vitumins and i eat fruit when we have it and vegtables...basically i eat healthy and get lots of exercise.

Thanks,
Shrine Princess

It is basically genetics, if your wondering why you havent hit a normal of grandparents, etc., it can skip more than one generation, or in my families case, my nephew is smaller than his parents and grandparents due to being on Ritalin for years. Have you ever been on medication for ADHD, or ADD?

Re: growing taller at 20...unrealistic or realistic?

No, I have not taken those medications and i have no illness nor have i had an illness that would stunt my growth...it truely baffles me how i can be the runt of the family;however it looks as though my younger brother is taking after me, but my other younger sibling, a sister, is 5'5" So i don't know where these short genes came from apparently they must come from my mom's side (but where since no body was that short in the family, where did they come from?) Because my brother and I have different dads but we look remarkably alike. Researching into my family like I said the men in the family were all tall, even my grandma's brother who was short like my brother but once he hit his teens he shot up and grew to be 6'0" and married a petite women (5'3") and their children and grandchildren grew tall. Have you guys heard that phrase about God and brains? I think there are two but the one that comes to mind is: "where were you when God was passing out Brains? Hiding behind the door?" Well I think that when got was passing out the Height genes I must have not heard or was hiding and got stuck with the short genes. So again any advice or information would help, Thanks

If 20 I doubt your get any taller some girls can grow intill 21 but most girls are done growing early. Good growing taller food are milk egg white and apples if your still growing but at 20 I doubt your still growing.
