Constipation is basically caused by not getting enough Fiber in your diet. A person is suppose to eat at least 20 to 35 grams of fiber daily. Without fiber your Gastrointestinal tract will not function well.

Some foods can cause constipation such as cheese, dairy products and all meat including seafood because they contain zero fiber. All fruit and veggies contain fiber---some more than others.

You can take a water soluble fiber supplement that is safe to take daily. If you don't eat right as most of us don't. Psyllium husk that is the active stuff in Metamucil works as well as other brands that are on the market. You also need to drink water --- at least 8 --8 ounce glasses daily and excercise helps.

Take Care----Harry

Thanks, i do try to get a good deal of fiber, i'm betting it was a large amount of cheese product i ate the other day got to me. I've eaten more than that and never had a problem like this though. I think I also ate something that had some bad bacteria in it last night because it's what was really making me feel like i have to vomit and giving me a slight fever (i'm freezing in a warm house!). But i've gotten over the irregularity part thank god. Now i've just been sleeping and trying to drink water to help flush everything out. I've been taking Malox or whatever to calm my stomach down, and it helps, but the vomit desire still lingers at times. I should be fine though. Thanks!
