Smile Hello Again

Hi everyone, especially Judy and Dove,

Been off the computer since Tuesday as I have had a bad cold and couldn't get out of bed. Just wanted to pop on here and let you know I am having a full blood test/check/work tomorrow at 9.30am. Now for those of you brave people who don't blink an eye at going for tests, this is a big step for me! I haven't had one before so I am sure that as I am sitting in the waiting room tomorrow at 9.15 or so I will be a little apprehensive. I will be thinking of everyone's courage here though.

Will chat too you soon.

Hi Lisa,
Sorry to hear that you've been sick. Well, you are taking the first step, and I wish you the very best. I got the results of my blood tests, and everything was fine, so knowing that will make the waiting a little easier. I haven't had any more bleeding either, which makes me feel better. Anyway, regardless, I know I need the colonoscopy because of my family history, and this was just the little push I needed. Best of health to you, and keep us posted.

Hi Dove,

Got some results from the blood test yesterday as I went to the Dr because I had a bit more bleeding after a BM. The results show that my liver wasn't functioning at the correct level and that he thinks that is the virus and the amount of painkillers I had. He wants to retest me in three weeks but he believes it will 'come back up' on its own.

He checked my bowel and couldn't feel anything (anything more embarrassing??? lol), but it was quite painful and leads him to believe it was a tear because I had been badly constipated from the painkillers the day before - and I am mean badly..lol.

So here I am still worrying about the ol' bowel but with the added worry of an underperforming liver..lol..what's next!

Oh well on the positive side I am being used to my Dr now and feel more comfortable having tests, needles etc. Always look on the bright side of life they say!!

I hope all is well with everyone, especially yourself and Judy!!

Lisa xx

Hi Lisa,
I bet the doc is right about your liver function. It will probably come out just fine on your next test. And you probably have a fissure that caused the rectal bleeding. If it isn't too severe, it will heal on it's own, but you should also pursue a colonoscopy just to be on the safe side. Don't worry, Lisa, these things do happen, and 9 times out of 10 everything turns out okay. I too have gotten used to doctors and needles, as I have to go in for testing quite often. You get used to it. I wish you all the best. Keep us posted.

Lisa -
Well good for you! I'm so glad you went ahead with the blood test. That's a huge first step in the right direction. Sorry haven't been online in the last few days or so, but have been away part of that time. Gotta go for a re-test of my blood next week, but I'm not too apprehensive about it since the colonoscopy was okay. You're going to be amazed at how good you feel once everything checks out just fine. You'll see.

Dove, hope you're doing well and holding up while waiting for your test. When is it?? You're both in thoughts, that's for sure. Please keep up the posts!

Judy
