Question hives

for about 4 days now I have been breakin out in hives.. I havent used any new products or been any where new. i was puttin up x-mas lights and had to push though some bushes is it possible to have posin oak or someting along them lines... It itches really bad like on my arms legs and stomach... then it goes away for a little bit and starts all over again.... any suggestions? thanks

Yes you could have some contact determatitis. Probably an antihistamine like allegra, claritin or zyrtec would help the itch. Might have to see a doctor for that.

do you know the name of the bushes?I know that i normally do not have any allergies but when i am cutting back the varigated dogwoods, man, i get all red and itchy.But it usually only lasts for about a day or so.Certain evergreens will have an effect on some people as well.It does indeed sound like some sort of contact dermatitis.Antihistamines should work for you if this is a fairly mild case without any other allergic type symptoms like difficulty breathing.If you should feel lightheaded ,have difficulty swallowing,breathing and start itching like crazy, don't hesitate to call 911,as you could have developed a full blown anaphylactic reaction which can be life threatening if medical intervention is not instituted soon.Marcia
