Question Losec for Nausea

I have been suffering with severe nausea for the past 7 months.

The doctor has prescribed Losec to help with Nausea...however, all I read about Losec is for acid reduction. I don't have heartburn, or any problems related to acid production. In fact, we don't know the cause of the nausea yet.

I started the medication on Friday (4 days ago), and so far have been more nauseated, have had severe headaches, and a very sore throat.

Can anyone provide me with some insight.

Thanks for any replies!

Do you take alot of ibuprofen? I took tons to fight away my mirgines and I ended up giving myself a nasty nasty case of heliobacteria!lol I had constant stomach cramps, I lost tons of weight because eating hurt. I finally went to the doctor and he warned me never to take advil and that stuff again. Have you had your liver values tested? If they are high they could make you feel like throwing up too because extra toxins in your bloodstream.

I hope this helps!

Re: Losec for Nausea

Is it just nausea you get?
do you get any pain or ache around the stomach under the rib cage area?
If you do they things like gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), ulcers, functional dyspepsia (a chronic condition that causea alot of nausea and stomach ache)
and in some caes it can be the gallbladder or the liver if you tend to get pain up there too.

Meds like that are horrid!! they are ok for ulcers but things like gastiris and probs that dont even need acid reduction it can make you feel rough!! If you have things like hyper acidity which can cause stomach ache and nausea they those meds will help.

Meds like advil and asprin are not good for the stomach and if taken over a long period frequently can cause stomach problems.
