Can't stand feeling like this and don't know what is wrong.

Hello,
I have been having a lot of pain which seems to run from throat down to center of diaphram and goes through to my back. My doctor told me to try Prilosec otc but it hasnt helped. I am also getting chest pain and burping all the time. It seems bad on an empty stomach but also after I eat. My chest feels tight and it feels like I can't catch my breath. Today when I was drinking water it felt funny then I could feel it come back up and stop at my throat. Does anyone know what this could be? Also get nauseaus. Can't stand feeling this way anymore!!!! I need someone to help.

Have you had any type of diagnostic testing done yet? Upper GI or endoscopy? There are quite a few things that could cause those symptoms, some of which are ulcers, hiatal hernia, GERD, gallbladder problems, etc.

Hi,
I haven't had any testing done yet. I had my gallbladder out 5 years ago. My doctor is in the process of referring me to a gastro for an endo. I hope the appt. is soon. The prilosec is not doing anything. It also hurts through to my back. Thanks for your reply. mtiffany

My niece had symptoms similiar to what you are experiencing. She had acid reflux. Nexium is what helped her. It is available only with a prescription.

I see the gastro doc next week maybe he will prescribe nexium. I hope. I hate feeling like this. Thanks for the info.
