Anything to help hoarseness

I have GERD. I am on Nexium 2x a day since late October. I have gotten some relief. I was wondering if the hoarseness I get can be controlled with anything? It seems to get bad late in the day with the throat clearing and the coughing at night. I have really paid attention to my diet and stress levels but it just bothers me to get so hoarse everyday. Any suggestions?
Happy Holidays everyone.

Re: Anything to help hoarseness

Okay well if ever anyone experiences this try gargling with baking soda. It is very helpful. I can't believe that with all the people in here, no one has had a sore throat with this disease promoting laringitis and hoarseness. I guess I am the lucky winner.

Re: Anything to help hoarseness

Hi Meredith, I am ussually to be found in the anxiety posts, but also suffer acid problems, yes my throat burns and I get hoarse, not helped by smoking! I have given up all tablets from doctor as they werent doing anything! If you go to alternative therapies board, I have taken that approach,, lemon juice in the morning, honey & Vinegar, etc and I am feeling as tho its all working, I survived Xmas with no Heartburn, no sore throat , no blisters on tongue etc.Actually now that I think about it, I havent had anything to severe since changing to the naturals. Im Not sure if I can reccomend different health boards, here ? But its definetly worth a read.Hoping this helps.

Re: Anything to help hoarseness

I have found that Magnesium oxide and protonix twice a day seem to have taken the burn down to a simmer so far, the hoarseness is almost gone to. I have tried some Alternatives to over the last 6 months but they didnt help me much so now am doing both together and it just may be working.
