Question Another cleanse question

I found an online program for colon cleanse that is an at home process. It doesn't involve any cleanse formulas or tablets. One day a week for four weeks, you use a different liquid as your fasting liquid. One week is pure apple juice, then distilled water with frest lemon, then water with apple cider vinegar, then just distilled water.

Anyone tried this or anything like it? Anyone know of an effective non-fasting cleanse? I would like something like this, no pills or anything to buy.

Is eating yogurt ok for good bacteria? Also, would a cleanse like this be good for candida as well? What about cranberry juice for a urinary cleanse?

There are a lot of questions here, I know, but it seems like there is so much to consider with this and I don't want to get into anything that would be harmful. I appreciate input from those who have experience with the subject.

Thanks!
Sidnee

Re: Another cleanse question

I don’t know this cleanse, but I don’t think it will do anything for Candida. You will need to go on a special Candida diet. If you like I will gladly expand on this.

Re: Another cleanse question

Candida feeds on sugar so you need to cut down on carbohydrate high foods. You can eat foods low on carbs and high in protein such as meat, chicken, fish and non starchy vegetables.

Avoid:
Sugar all forms as honey, syrup etc.
Fruit
Potatoes
Any thing made with yeast: bread, vinegar, alcohol etc.
Foods with mold: peanuts, peanut butter
Processed foods: Cheese, bacon, hotdogs etc.
Refined foods: refined flour, pasta, white rice etc.
Coffee, black tea, (I’m not quite sure on this one. It is some years ago I did this program, and have since done other cleanses, liver, kidney etc. where I stopped drinking coffee and black tea)
Some also recommend to avoid dairy products. Organic plain yogurt is ok.

Eat:
Vegetables, chicken, meat, fish, brown rice, rye bread (non yeast variants).

You will need to follow this strictly for a month, and then you can start to relax a bit. You can start to eat fruit.

It took me 8-9 months with no sugar, yeast or alcohol to get rid of an infection that was visible on my skin. I had this infection for 20 years and had tried prescription creams.

It took me a long time to get used to no sugar in my diet. But I did get to a point where I stopped missing it. Since I completed the diet I now use much less sugar then before. I do eat sweats, cakes and drink soda now and then.

It dosn't have to take as long as it toke me. It depends on how long and how bad you have had a problem with Candida.

Re: Another cleanse question

sidnee74,

I am going to do the Master Cleanse starting next week. It's supposed to give the digestive tract a "rest". I've heard of juice fasting which sounds a little bit like what you are talking about. I think you just drink different juices that you have to concoct at home.

greensky,

Do you know, personally, of a sure fire way or easy way to test yourself to see if you have Candida? I think I may have it. How bad, I don't know. I have a skin condition called tinea versicolor and from what I have been told this may be a sign that I have Candida. I read somewhere else that a good way to tell if you have Candida is to buy some malted milk balls and eat them. If you have gas after eating them, you have Candida. Sounds strange.... But if you could give (some more) insight on Candida that woud be helpful. From what I have read, craving sweets and taking a lot of antibiotics in the past are a sign that you may have Candida. There were a couple of other signs listed, but they didn't apply to me. I have taken a lot of antibiotics in the past and while I don't CRAVE sweets, I will eat something sweet (chocolate, Coke) maybe twice a week. Also, what you mentioned above about breads/yeast, yes that applies to me also, but again maybe once a week and not in large quantities. Sorry this is long.

Thanks!
